'member this!

JUNE 6, 1918
6 June 1918
Arguably, this was the most catastrophic day in Marine Corps history to this date. Two assaults take place. At 0500, the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment attacks west of Belleau Wood straightening the front and capturing strategic Hill 142 to support an assault on the wooded area. The attack was successful despite the lack of preparation and poor timing. It went off with only 2 companies and timely arrival of the other two avoided a defeat. Gunnery Sgt E. A. Janson's was awarded a Medal of Honor for his service in this assault. A member of Capt. Hamilton's 49th Co., he was responsible for effectively stopping a German counterattack.

Twelve hours later battalions of the 5th and 6th Marine Regiments frontally assault the woods from the south and west and attempt to capture Bouresches on the east edge of the woods. This afternoon attack was to be coordinated between the 3rd Batt, 5th Marines [3/5] and 3rd Batt, 6th Marines [3/6] with the latter eventually taking the village of Bouresches.

The attack against the woods proper goes grimly. Crossing a wheat field where they are exposed to machine gun fire. Gunnery Sgt Dan Daly asks his men, "Come on ya sons-of-bitches, ya want to live forever?' The attack is only able to seize a small corner of the wood. The army 2nd Engineer Regiment is called on to provide reinforcements.

The poorly coordinated attack on the woods left the 3/5 decimated and the 3/6 struggling to get into the southern edge of the woods. The Brigade order was amended and the 2/6 (in reserve around Triangle Farm) was directed to take Bouresches. Capt Duncan's 96th Company led the way with future Corps Commandant Lt. Clifton Cates. Lead elements of the company got into the village and were then reinforced by Capt Zane's 79th Company. The retention of the village was a real struggle due to the fact that the Marine flanks were wide-open fields and any attempt to reinforce received heavy German fire. Personal bravery kept the Marines supplied with needed supplies. US Navy Dental Service Officer Lt. JG. Weedon Osborne's received the Medal of Honor after being killed trying to save Capt Duncan. Today there is street in Bouresches named for him.

In addition to the village, the Brigade was directed to take the railroad station just outside. However, it was heavily manned and protected by a railroad embankment providing the Germans excellent fields of fire and the attack failed. On this day, the Marine Brigade suffered the worst single day's casualties in USMC history with 1087 men killed or wounded.

Battle of Iwo Jima

19 Feb 1945 - 26 Mar 1945

he naval bombardment stopped at 0857, and at 0902, the first of an eventual 30,000 marines of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Marine Divisions, under V Amphibious Corps, departed in their landing craft. They arrived at the beach 3 minutes later. It was uneventful. They were sure that optimists like Jim Buchanan must be right, there were no Japanese left to fight; the only casualties that occurred were to drownings caused by a powerful undertow. Several more waves of landing crafts hit the beach and dropped off their men, tanks, and supplies continuously in the next hour, and it was about then when the thunders of the Japanese guns hit. Under Kuribayashi's specific instructions, they waited an hour for the beach to crowd up before the guns sounded so that every shot fired would inflict maximum damage on the Americans. "Smoke and earsplitting noise suddenly filled the universe," and the Marines had nowhere to hide as the volcanic sand was too soft to dig a proper foxhole. All they could do was move forward; some of those who could not move forward were crushed by tanks that were trying to get off of the beach like the men. Navy Corpsman Roy Steinfort recalled that as he arrived on the beach, he was initially happy to see that countless Marines lay prone defending the beachhead. It did not take long to realize that the men were not in prone positions; they were all dead. Frantic radio calls reported back to the operations HQ: "All units pinned down by artillery and mortars", "casualties heavy", "taking heavy fire and forward movement stopped", and "artillery fire the heaviest ever seen". By sun down, the Americans had already incurred 2,420 casualties.

First Lieutenant Barber Conable of the United States Marines, who would later become the president of the World Bank, woke up in disbelief when he saw the second flag flying above Mount Suribachi. He recalled:

"It was my first time in battle and we were all terrified. Someone jumped into my foxhole and swore: 'it wasn't like this on Bougainville.' The officer I admire the most, the man in the next foxhole, a sergeant I knew -- they were all killed. My hearing is impaired to this day.... A major came over looking for a site for a cemetery and was shot by a sniper.... I was lucky.... When she heard about (the flag raising), Tokyo Rose said the flag on the mountain would be thrown into the sea. I hadn't had any sleep for more than sixty hours, so I didn't see them raise it, and it was wonderful to wake up to. I must say I got a little weepy when I saw it."

The Allied forces suffered 25,000 casualties, with nearly 7,000 dead. Over 1/4 of the Medals of Honor awarded to marines in World War II were given for conduct in the invasion of Iwo Jima.

In sum, Iwo Jima saw the only major battle in the entire Pacific Campaign where American casualties surpassed the Japanese dead. All the lives lost, on both sides of the battle, for ten square miles; for that very reason, Admiral Richmond Turner was criticized by American press for wasting the lives of his men. However, by war's end, Iwo Jima sure appeared to have saved many Americans, too. 2,400 B-29 landings took place at Iwo Jima, many were under emergency conditions that might otherwise meant a crash at sea.

A letter from the front lines...

I found this letter on a friend's blog. It touches so greatly upon the warrior ethos that pulses through the veins and heart of every patriot, I just felt compelled to share it here.

Sullivan Ballou wrote to his wife Sarah just one week before he and 27 of his close comrades and 4000 Americans in all would die in the battle at "First Manassas".

July the 14th, 1861

Washington D.C.

My very dear Sarah,

The indications are very strong that we shall move in a few days - perhaps tomorrow. Lest I should not be able to write you again, I feel impelled to write lines that may fall under your eye when I shall be no more.

Our movement may be one of a few days duration and full of pleasure - and it may be one of severe conflict and death to me. Not my will, but thine 0 God, be done. If it is necessary that I should fall on the battlefield for my country, I am ready. I have no misgivings about, or lack of confidence in, the cause in which I am engaged, and my courage does not halt or falter. I know how strongly American Civilization now leans upon the triumph of the Government, and how great a debt we owe to those who went before us through the blood and suffering of the Revolution. And I am willing - perfectly willing - to lay down all my joys in this life, to help maintain this Government, and to pay that debt.

But, my dear wife, when I know that with my own joys I lay down nearly all of yours, and replace them in this life with cares and sorrows - when, after having eaten for long years the bitter fruit of orphanage myself, I must offer it as their only sustenance to my dear little children - is it weak or dishonorable, while the banner of my purpose floats calmly and proudly in the breeze, that my unbounded love for you, my darling wife and children, should struggle in fierce, though useless, contest with my love of country?

I cannot describe to you my feelings on this calm summer night, when two thousand men are sleeping around me, many of them enjoying the last, perhaps, before that of death - and I, suspicious that Death is creeping behind me with his fatal dart, am communing with God, my country, and thee.

I have sought most closely and diligently, and often in my breast, for a wrong motive in thus hazarding the happiness of those I loved and I could not find one. A pure love of my country and of the principles have often advocated before the people and "the name of honor that I love more than I fear death" have called upon me, and I have obeyed.

Sarah, my love for you is deathless, it seems to bind me to you with mighty cables that nothing but Omnipotence could break; and yet my love of Country comes over me like a strong wind and bears me irresistibly on with all these chains to the battlefield.

The memories of the blissful moments I have spent with you come creeping over me, and I feel most gratified to God and to you that I have enjoyed them so long. And hard it is for me to give them up and burn to ashes the hopes of future years, when God willing, we might still have lived and loved together and seen our sons grow up to honorable manhood around us. I have, I know, but few and small claims upon Divine Providence, but something whispers to me - perhaps it is the wafted prayer of my little Edgar - that I shall return to my loved ones unharmed. If I do not, my dear Sarah, never forget how much I love you, and when my last breath escapes me on the battlefield, it will whisper your name.

Forgive my many faults, and the many pains I have caused you. How thoughtless and foolish I have oftentimes been! How gladly would I wash out with my tears every little spot upon your happiness, and struggle with all the misfortune of this world, to shield you and my children from harm. But I cannot. I must watch you from the spirit land and hover near you, while you buffet the storms with your precious little freight, and wait with sad patience till we meet to part no more.

But, O Sarah! If the dead can come back to this earth and flit unseen around those they loved, I shall always be near you, in the garish day and in the darkest night - amidst your happiest scenes and gloomiest hours - always, always; and if there be a soft breeze upon your cheek, it shall be my breath; or the cool air fans your throbbing temple, it shall be my spirit passing by.

Sarah, do not mourn me dead; think I am gone and wait for thee, for we shall meet again.

As for my little boys, they will grow as I have done, and never know a father's love and care. Little Willie is too young to remember me long, and my blue-eyed Edgar will keep my frolics with him among the dimmest memories of his childhood. Sarah, I have unlimited confidence in your maternal care and your development of their characters. Tell my two mothers his and hers I call God's blessing upon them. O Sarah, I wait for you there! Come to me, and lead thither my children.

He lived this!

It's that time again. Unless you are obviously a crook I will give no clues as to your name or whereabouts.

First I would like to say a gracious "Thank you" to the thirty people who sent me a message for MEMORIAL DAY! I am truly touched by your sentiments. But may I remind you; I'm still alive. And MEMORIAL DAY is set aside to recall those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Now to answer the other mail;

I used to post Security info here. But I lost a bet when I proved that people were not reading them. So I don't do that anymore.

And here are a couple of scam mails to look out for.

If you get an E-Mail like one of these above. Please ignore it and delete it.

If you are easily upset by the sights of memorial day recognition; you'll want to skip this blog until sometime after June 6, 2010.

Abba Father,

We as a united body of believers in Jesus Christ lift our sister, Denise up in prayer tonight. We ask Lord that this precious lady be comforted in your mighty arms in which we can rest from the heavy burdens this disease places on the body and mind. We ask for a Divine Miracle in her life Lord, because despite what the doctors tell her, we know You have the answer to when her time here is up. You, the Great Physician, can heal her Lord and with the faith of a mustard seed we ask for Your Healing Hand in her life. Let her feel the warmth of your touch and rest in the comfort of Your wings.

You are Denise's shepherd, She has everything she needs. God, You will provide Denise rest in Your green pastures and calm waters. Denise has Your new strength. You will lead her on the paths that are right for the good of Your name. Give her strength and encouragement when she feels like she is alone, remind her that even though this valley seems deep and dark, we walk not in this valley alone and she will not be afraid because YOU are with her.

At times we may feel too weak to go on but Your rod and Your staff comforts us. As we walk, we will feel no evil. You prepare a meal for Denise in front of her enemies. You pour oil of blessings on her head. You fill her cup to overflowing. Surely Your goodness and love will be with Denise all of her life, and she will dwell in your house forever.

In Jesus' Mighty Name, we pray ~ AMEN

In honor of and in keeping with the spirit and attitude towards America's enemies, as put forth by the Current Executive Administration, to be a KINDER, GENTLER, MORE TOLERANT WORLD NEIGHBOR, the US Navy has instituted the:

A Recently captured Taliban leader was placed aboard a USN Aircraft Carrier. During his stay aboard the carrier, he ate meals with the crew and enjoyed air-conditioned quartering and stayed in a private stateroom. There is none of that sleep deprivation, prolonged interrogation tactics. No mental anguish or psychological disorientation. And certainly none of that water-boarding!
In fact after the friendly questioning in a comfy chair, with milk and cookies was over. The Navy gave the Jihadist a classic American Automobile and $500.00 cash and sent him on his way.

This is a picture of the crew during the release.

I thought I would use this post to answer some of the Emails I have been getting lately. In the spirit of privacy,I will leave names out of this post. So without further delay.

Ego-centric, not Narcissistic.

I love you too.

Punctuated Equilibrium.

All dogs are the same species, breeds are not separate species.

And Yes I have attended the ceremony conducted to "Swear In" New U.S. Citizens. I was highly enamored of those people who worked and studied so hard to earn what I and others take for granted. In fact, while I spent two months in the Nursing home, back in 2007, I helped two RSAs from Guatemala study for their oral exam to become Citizens of The United States of America.

Some of the questions are trivial in nature (to my mind) such as:
Why are there 13 stripes on the US Flag?
How many Stars on the US Flag? And What does that number represent?
What was the name of the ship that brought the Pilgrims to America?
Why did the Pilgrims come to America?

Other questions are a little tougher, such as:
Who wrote The Declaration of Independence?
When was The Declaration Signed?
What document guarantees the liberties and freedoms of Americans?
How many amendments to the constitution are there?
What do we call the first 13 amendments to the Constitution?
What form of Government do we have in the USA?

Then there are some toughies, such as:
How many members in the US House of Representatives?
Who has the power to declare War?
Who was President of the USA during WWI?
Which countries were our Enemies during WWII?
In what year was the US Constitution written?
What is the introduction of the Constitution called?
If the President and the Vice President were to die, Who becomes President?

and the final answer is:
Myth Busters.

Have a good Sunday.

A young woman from the North East part of the USA, graduated from a prestigious university with a Master Of Education degree. She was drawn to the romance of Hollywood, and moved to Los Angeles. With her credentials she had no trouble finding a job. She was chosen to teach English to a class full of fifth graders.

On her first day she tried to find some common ground with her students. So she asked the class, "Are there any Basketball fans in this group?"

All the hands shot into the air. "Excellent" she said.

And began to ask each child, "What is your favorite team?"

And every child responded in turn, "THE LAKERS."

The frustrated Boston fan, finaaly got to the last child and said, "I suppose you're a Laker fan too?"

The little girl said "I certainly am."

The teacher snapped out "And why are you a Laker fan?"

The little girl said, "Well, both my Mom and Dad are Laker Fans. So I have to be a Laker Fan too."

The teacher recognized this as an opening to give a life lesson. And she said, "Just because your parents are something, is no reason you have to be the same thing they are. Suppose your Father was a drunk and your mother was a stripper. What would you be then?"

The girl said, "Well, in that case, I'd be a Celtic fan."

An old Cherokee Chief is teaching his grandson about life.

"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego."

He continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old Cherokee simply replied,

"The one you feed."

I follow several blogs written by some of America's unsung heroes. The Military Parents, Siblings, Spouses and their Children. Because of personal safety reasons and Operational Security (OPSEC) I must refrain from calling out their names. Some are tending to Wounded Warriors, and others have their Warrior in a deployed overseas status. And others are in the middle of transitioning to new homes. But all of them are doing more than their share of sacrificing for our freedom. So, when you hit your prayer time today. Please Include ALL Military Family MEMBERS in them.
If you have a family member Serving, or who has served in The United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard; This award is for you.

There are no rules for accepting or posting this Gold Star Medal. I created it and it will appear in my side bar for you to take at anytime you wish. Be well. Be blessed and be a blessing.

Politically Incorrect {troisième partie}

Before I go into soap box mode, I'd like to answer a few questions raised in the "Comment Box." In no particular order:

@Karen; I'll be back to my old wittiness soon. Thank you for the compliment.

@Senorita; Thank you for your volunteer work with those people caught in the political crossfire of the Failed American Immigration policy. I see and understand their position. But it is nothing new. The Irish, and Italian immigrants went through the same thing in the USA, when they came here legally. They came from a place that was so full of corrupted Law Enforcement Officials, they never trusted ours for decades after coming here.

1.  Police officials stating that "1070 will keep us from doing serious crime" is a not-so-veiled insinuation, that "Cops won't be able to respond to a rape or muder in-progress call, because they'll be shaking down Latino kids in the playground" (to use your analogy). THAT IS FEAR MONGERING.

2. My broad brush statement on LAW ENFORCEMENT Vs GUN OWNERSHIP, was not directed at Arizona law enforcement per say. But as a resident of California, despite what California law says, the police are outspoken about and unapologetic about their opposition to civilian firearms ownership. So while I will retract my statement as it pertained to Arizona gun laws, I stand by the statement that those people have an opinion. But they are trying to give validity to their opinion, under the color of authority. Something that Federal forces are forbidden to do.

3.  The point you raise about sovereign nations having rights that individual states in the USA don't have, is not as cut and dried as you state. The Supremacy clause does prohibit states from enacting laws that are contradictory to US Federal Law (Slavery would be an example). But the Arizona law is complimentary to US Law, and gives their police authority nto enforce said laws. Specifically because the FEDS won't do it.

4. All of the rest of my posts were in effort to reinforce my opinion that the Arizona law was not founded under a principle of RACISM. And that there were far more serious problems at the source. So allow me to ask the reciprocal. "WHY DO YOU CONTEND MY POSITION IS WRONG? Are you saying that it was a racist law? The SPIN-DOCTORS have been so successful at detracting from the point of contention, since President Clinton and her husband ran the country.

And now anytime someone has an opposing opinion that differs from the officials currently running The USA, they automatically throw down the RACE-CARD, or the TEA-BAGGER line. And I for one am damn tired of it. This country is at war. And an open border is a security concern of paramount importance. And The USA's failed immigration policy is directly to blame for every attack against US soil, since the end of WWII.

Are previous Administrations complicit in this situation? Yes, most definitely. But that is no excuse to ignore the thing now. And that is exactly what they are doing. For the record, I'm in favor of hardening both land borders of The US. Enemies bent on doing harm to America have been stopped at both.

5.  The article on false documents was intended to show that an entire sub-culture has evolved out of the US Failure to do the responsible thing, and "CLOSE THE OPEN DOOR."

6.  The CNBC NEWS has lately been running a series that documents the Mexican Drug Cartels hiring Illegals to tend and booby-trap Marijuana fields in remote areas of Southern California. And that doesn't even consider the Costs to Health care brought about by Illegals in this country.

Arizona Elected officials have openly stated that they hope to force the Federal Government to take action. And I believe it is a noble undertaking in the same league as "The civil Disobedience employed by the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s.

I will try to show that the policy of immigration law of Mexico is a very serious deterrent to having unwanted, useless, poor, unhealthy human burdens allowed into their society. And that it is far more draconian and harsh than the Arizona law. And how their hypocrisy is so incredible, as to be without credibility.

Please take note that the above videos are from before the Federal Government pushed heath care onto the shoulders of the Individual states. There's your supremacy clause Stoogepie.

And according to the New York Daily News:

It isn't just a border state issue,

Then the President of Mexico says this about Arizona:

And if you read the Policy on Mexico Immigration laws at Wikipedia, You will see this:

Only Mexicans by birth or naturalization and Mexican companies have the right to acquire ownership of lands, waters, and their appurtenances, or to obtain concessions for the exploitation of mines or of waters.[1]  The Mexican government may grant this right to foreigners if they agree before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs not to invoke the protection of their own governments in any matters relating to the property they wish to buy. This is known as the Calvo Clause. This is generally done via a permit process. The 1917 Mexican constitution imposed restrictions on the purchase of land on those without Mexican citizenship. In particular, it prohibits direct ownership of real estate in what is known as the "restricted zone". This zone encompasses all land within 100 km of either Mexican land border and within 50 km of any Mexican coastline. Land 'purchases' in these areas can only be done via a mechanism called a fideicomiso, which roughly is a real estate trust, with a Mexican bank designated as the trustee and having possession of the land title. This mechanism was created to allow for foreign investment in these areas without violating the constitutional principle. The beneficiary of the trust, the foreigner, has all the rights to use, build and sell the property at its market buyer to any eligible buyer. These trusts have a term of 50 years and are renewable.[2]

Illegal immigration has been a problem for Mexico, especially since the 1970's. In 2006 Mexico detained more than 182,000 people who entered the country illegally, mainly from nearby Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, all being Central-American countries neighboring Mexico to the south. Smaller numbers of illegal immigrants come from Ecuador, Cuba, China, South Africa, and Pakistan. [3].

"The Law of Population" is to regulate immigration as to volume, structure, and distribution. This law was written to distribute immigrants across Mexico. [4] Immigration must be deemed appropriate, and assimilate to the national average and their proper distribution throughout the country.{article 3, section 7} Foreign nationals are restricted when the national interest so requires.{article 3, section 8} Immigration to urban population centers can be restricted to ensure effective delivery public services.{article 3, section 9} The immigration of foreigners is allowed according to their potential to contribute to national progress.{article 32} Foreigners are subject to approval concerning appropriate activities they will pursue, and the location of residence.{article 34} Immigrants nust be useful elements for the country and have the income needed for subsistence and persons under their economic dependence.{article 34} Foreigners may be denied entry for the following reasons, if: No international reciprocity, The national demographic balance is altered, It is deemed harmful to the national economic interests, he/she has violated national law or have a poor record abroad, deemed not physically or mentally healthy. For a foreigner to pursue other activities in addition to those that have been expressly authorized, requires permission from the Interior Ministry.{article 37} The authorities of the Republic, whether federal, local or municipal, as well as public notaries, are obliged to check if foreigners are legally in the country.{article 72} The judicial authorities are required to notify the Interior Ministry of defendants of foreign descent who are being prosecuted, and sentencing handed down.

And at one of my favorite extreme right wing news venues The NATION, has this to say:
Mexico's Immigration Law: Let's Try It Here at Home
by J. Michael Waller (more by this author)
Posted 05/08/2006 ET
Updated 04/12/2010 ET

Mexico has a radical idea for a rational immigration policy that most Americans would love. However, Mexican officials haven’t been sharing that idea with us as they press for our Congress to adopt the McCain-Kennedy immigration reform bill.

That's too bad, because Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how it handles the immigration issue. Under Mexican law, it is a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico.

At a time when the Supreme Court and many politicians seek to bring American law in line with foreign legal norms, it’s noteworthy that nobody has argued that the U.S. look at how Mexico deals with immigration and what it might teach us about how best to solve
our illegal immigration problem. Mexico has a single, streamlined law that ensures that foreign visitors and immigrants are:

    * in the country legally;

    * have the means to sustain themselves economically;

    * not destined to be burdens on society;

    * of economic and social benefit to society;

    * of good character and have no criminal records; and

    * contributors to the general well-being of the nation.

The law also ensures that:

    * immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;

    * foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;

    * foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics;

    * foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;

    * foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;

    * those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.

Who could disagree with such a law? It makes perfect sense. The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens -- and the denial of many fundamental rights to non-citizens, illegal and illegal. Under the constitution, the Ley General de Población, or
General Law on Population, spells out specifically the country's immigration policy.

It is an interesting law -- and one that should cause us all to ask, Why is our great southern neighbor pushing us to water down our own immigration laws and policies, when its own immigration restrictions are the toughest on the continent? If a felony is a
crime punishable by more than one year in prison, then Mexican law makes it a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico.

If the United States adopted such statutes, Mexico no doubt would denounce it as a manifestation of American racism and bigotry.

We looked at the immigration provisions of the Mexican constitution. [1] Now let's look at Mexico's main immigration law.

Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:

    * Foreigners are admitted into Mexico "according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress." (Article 32)

    * Immigration officials must "ensure" that "immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents. (Article 34)

    * Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets "the equilibrium of the national demographics," when foreigners are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when "they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy." (Article 37)

    * The Secretary of Governance may "suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest." (Article 38)

Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country:

    * Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants. (Article 73)

    * A National Population Registry keeps track of "every single individual who comprises the population of the country," and verifies each individual's identity. (Articles 85 and 86)

    * A national Catalog of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants (Article 87), and assigns each individual with a unique tracking number (Article 91).

Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned:

    * Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116)

    * Foreigners who sign government documents "with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses" are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116)

Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons:

    * Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117)

    * Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118)

    * Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison (Articles 119, 120 and 121). Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico -- such as working with out a permit -- can also be imprisoned.

Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population says,

    * "A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally." (Article 123)

    * Foreigners with legal immigration problems may be deported from Mexico instead of being imprisoned. (Article 125)

    * Foreigners who "attempt against national sovereignty or security" will be deported. (Article 126)

Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under the law:

    * A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison. (Article 127)

    * Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined. (Article 132)

All of the above runs contrary to what Mexican leaders are demanding of the United States. The stark contrast between Mexico's immigration practices versus its American
immigration preachings is telling. It gives a clear picture of the Mexican government's agenda: to have a one-way immigration relationship with the United States.

Let's call Mexico's bluff on its unwarranted interference in U.S. immigration policy. Let's propose, just to make a point, that the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) member nations standardize their immigration laws by using Mexico's own law as a model.

Politically Incorrect (deuxième partie)

@Stoogepie; I am diametrically opposed to so many of your opinions, I don't know where to begin. So let me start with the 3 things you said that I agree with.
1. I did fight for your right to speak your mind.
2. You could be wrong.
3. It really is too bad those police unions and Associations don't agree with me.

Please don't challenge anyone but me on my blog. Otherwise you come off as a bully. And I won't defend your right to throw your weight around at bystanders. Are we clear on that?

Next, I maintain that the Arizona law does not pose a threat to law abiding citizens of the USA, regardless of skin color. And those sheriffs who oppose the new law on the basis of "It will detract from Police doing some real crime fighting" I think they are the fear mongers. And your lengthy list of "LAW ENFORCEMENT GROUPS OPPOSED TO 1070 LAW",
Sounds to me like a "WHO'S WHO" OF POLICE GROUPS OPPOSED TO CITIZENS OWNING GUNS. Just another pile of opinions that are out of sync with the reality that is America.

@Spiky Zora Jones, Yes the law makes no mention of race. And as I'll show momentarily, Hispanics and Latinos are not the only people crossing the border from Mexico. And I'll touch on the facts of Immigration laws in Other countries, as well.

But first I would like to say "That it is ALREADY Against U.S. Federal Law to be in Arizona without documentation. And no matter how it plays out in your mind, The Federals are shirking their duty and responsibility to protect Arizona and the other 49 United States."

The crime wave of violence is not new.

It is a political issue. And this Citizen gets it.

Amnesty Internationalhas this to say:

The Drug Problem is felt on bth sides of the border.

And if this is RACIST in Arizona, Then it must be racist in Brazil and Paraguay as well!

And once again It is not just Arizona.

And Mexican Border Bandits Prey upon other Latinos.

And if you need papers...

And If you still think it's about RACE...

But once those guns get into Mexico! A MIRACLE HAPPENS:

Please join me for the Third and final portion of My Outrageous Distortion of the facts. Hopefully tomorrow after Church. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

Politically Incorrect

If you  should decide to stop following my blog, there will be no hard feelings. I have some things to say that may offend you. But here in the USA, you have the right to be offended by everything I say.

In the State of Arizona, their Congress passed a law that has the rest of America Talking! Chicano and Latino Citizens are screaming "RACIST" and "PROFILING" at the top of their lungs.

The political leaders of both the Republican and Democrat parties are demanding the law be challenged and stricken as UNCONSTITUTIONAL! California is $145 Billion in the red, and the Mayors of San Francisco and San Diego are crying for a boycott of ARIZONA.
WHAT'S all the HUB-BUB??? BUB!

Well first of all, The politicos are all trying to woo the next great voting bloc in America. So you can't expect those vote whores to do anything to offend anyone who represents the possible future of their existence. And The SAN DIEGO VISITOR'S COUNCIL stated on our local NEWS station That, "If Conventions boycott Arizona, maybe San Diego Can benefit from this." MONEY and VOTES!!! Can it be that simple? NOPE, NOT LIKELY.

I would like to show you a few reasons why the good people in ARIZONA are right.

Article 4...

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican
Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on
Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature
cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

And why are the so called "Main Stream NEWS" sources CNN and MSNBC running off at the mouth like they know what is in the heart of Arizona's citizens, and declaring them racists one and all? Well MSNBC Marches to the drumbeat of the DNC, and CNN has become confused with being incredible, and having no credibility.

The facts of the matter are being obfuscated by the politics of "Please The People." Illegal Immigration is a burden on America, that can't be fixed by ignoring it. But I contend that the poor and indigent Mexicans crossing the border are not the primary concern.

The sign at the border does not look like this:

But it does say this:

Here are some of the real news articles I see, that never appear on CNN.

Maybe This is why CNN isn't covering the true story:

And it's not just an ARIZONA PROBLEM:

This is just the start. I'll have part two soon.
